Four Ponda shops burgled

PONDA: In a midnight burglary case on Friday, thieves broke into four shops at Ponda bus stand just around 20 metres away from the Ponda Police Station that surprised the police and the local shop owners. 

“The thieves made a daring act despite the police station is located near these shops which shows that there is a need of strict vigil in the town by the Police,” said Ponda locals, expressing concern over theft  incident. The thieves fled with goods and cash worth around Rs 29,000. 

According to the police, the thieves entered the shop by cutting the roof sheets. Owner of one shop claimed that cash worth Rs 15,000 was stolen from his shop while cash and goods worth Rs 11,000 were stolen from another shop.
