According to eyewitnesses, the driver was in an inebriated state due to which he lost control of the vehicle. The driver however denied the charges. “Usually this is a crowded area many customers come here to eat. If such an incident happened earlier, while we were serving the people, then there would have been many deaths here. This is not a case of drunken driving. The driver was at a high speed and this area is not a highway where you can speed. There are many speed breakers and turns. This is something else. Looking at the situation, I believe that the driver must have consumed drugs.” The eyewitness demanded a narcotics test to be done on the perpetrator.

The locals informed the police about the incident. Upon receiving a call the police rushed to the accident area and began investigating. A case has been registered against the taxi driver.
