On 21st March late at night, an accident took place wherein a high-speeding four-wheeler taxi rammed his vehicle into the shops at Vasco. The incident occurred around 11 pm on an internal road. The driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, is said to have lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the collision. Fortunately, no casualties were reported but the shop owner incurred a massive amount of damages.
“I got a call saying that an accident had taken place and I rushed to check as soon as possible. The whole shutter has collapsed. The poles have been damaged extensively. It will take us a maximum of five days to restart our business. The perpetrator must take full responsibility and bear all the cost that I have incurred in this damage” said the shop owner.
According to the locals present on the accident spot, the driver was drunk and due to which he was compelled to such act. But he denied accepting that he was drunk rather he believed that the driver was under the influence of drugs that made him do such things. “Usually this is a crowded area many customers come here to eat. If such an incident happened while we were serving the people then there would have many deaths here. This is not a case of drunken driving. The driver was at a high speed and this area is not a highway where you can speed. There are many speed breakers and turns. This is something else. Looking at the situation, I believe that the driver must have consumed drugs.” He demanded a narcotics test to be done on the perpetrator.
The locals informed the police about the incident. Upon receiving a call the police rushed to the accident area and began investigating. A case has been registered against the taxi owner.
