PANJIM: The managing committee of the All Goa Consumer Cooperative Society and Fair Price Shop (FPS) Owners Association on Sunday appealed to all FPS owners to lift the ration quota keeping in view the festivals in November and December.
The managing committee also requested its general secretary Gandhi Henriques to again write to the Secretary (Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs) to intervene and direct the Department to release all the pending dues and start doorstep delivery as per the National Food Security Act at the earliest. The FPS owners had recently refused to pick up more stock until their dues, amounting to Rs one crore, are released.
