PANJIM: Francis Anthony D’Souza was declared elected as panch from Ward 3 of Penha de Franca panchayat, on July 2.
The elections to the Penha de Franca panchayat were held on June 11, however, the counting of votes had been postponed on account of a stay of election to one of the wards by the High Court.
The election to the disputed ward was held on July 1 and the counting of votes of all the wards was taken up on July 2, wherein Francis Anthony D’Souza was declared elected from Ward 3.
However, Herald in its July 3 edition inadvertently mentioned one Anupa Halankar as winner from Ward 3. The inadvertent error is regretted.
