Fraud accused Tanvi, Anand denied bail

QUEPEM: The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Quepem has rejected the bail applications of Curchorem bank fraud accused Tanvi Vast and branch manager Anand Jadhav.

Vast is currently in police custody, while Anand will remain in judicial custody.

The orders on the bail applications of both the accused were reserved on Wednesday. Jadhav has been denied bail twice. His counsel, Adv Amey Prabhudesai said that after going through the order they will decide the further course of action. Twenty-four complaints have been filed by several persons who have been duped of their hard-earned money. Of these, most complaints have been filed at the Curchorem Police Station.

It is pertinent to note that Vast is alleged to have duped the victims of Rs 1.5 crore. She allegedly exploited the trust of account holders, working in coordination with Jadhav, to access their savings.
