Fraudster takes job aspirant for a ride

The cybercrime experts have registered an FIR and launched an investigation.

PANJIM: Amid the rise in cybercrime cases, particularly job scams, the Cyber Crime Cell of Goa Police received yet another complaint from a job aspirant alleging that an unidentified fraudster cheated him of over Rs 5 lakh. 

A youth from Salcete, in his complaint, alleged that he was lured to apply for a job in a New Zealand-based firm Grand Hood Contracting. The communication between the fraudster and the victim was through a mobile number +917836025610 and email IDs upeevski@gcsd.ge and admin@granthoodcontracting-nzo.com. 

“The accused claimed he was an employee of the firm and that the candidate will be considered for the job upon completing formalities including transferring a certain amount. The victim has been duped of Rs 5.23 lakh,” said an official. 

The cybercrime experts have registered an FIR and launched an investigation.
