CANACONA : In a freak accident reported at Poinguinim market in Canacona taluka between Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited bus and a two- wheeler, the two-wheeler rider suffered a fracture to his leg.
A Kadamba Transport Corporation Limitedbus proceeding from Karwar to Margao was behind a four-wheeler driven by a lady, when they reached Poinguinim market the driver of the allegedly stopped suddenly on seeing a snake across her lane and the KTC driver steered the bus to the right. However while doing so the bus dashed against a scooter coming from opposite direction injuring the rider Rupesh Kurtarkar and his wife Neeta Kurtarkar. Both were shifted to Canacona health centre from where Rupesh was referred to Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim for treating his fractured leg and his wife Neeta was discharged after treating her for minor injuries.
Later, it was found out that the snake which caused this freak accident was already dead.
