Free entry at all monuments from August 5 to 15

An order in this regard was issued by ASI Director (Monument-II) Dr N K Pathak on Wednesday.

PANJIM: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will not charge any fee for visitors at any ticketed Centrally protected monuments as well as Archaeological site museums from August 5 to 15, on the occasion of `Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ as part of the commemoration of 75 years of India’s Independence.

An order in this regard was issued by ASI Director (Monument-II) Dr N K Pathak on Wednesday. “In exercise of the powers conferred under Rule 6 of the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Survey of India, no fees will be charged at all ticketed Centrally protected monuments/ Archaeological Sites and Remains, specified in the Second Schedule of the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Rules, 1969 as well as Archaeological Site Museums from August 5 to 15,” read the order.
