CURCHOREM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is confident that their party will form the next government in the State as people will vote for them as they announced to give free electricity for up to 200 units consumption based on Delhi electricity model.

When asked to comment on Congress’ offer for alliance, speaking to the media persons after the public meeting at Curchorem on Friday, AAP national spokesperson and MLA Raghav Chadha said that “BJP and Congress are same party and there is no difference between them and making this announcement, Congress has conceded that they have been completely decimated and the next alternative is only AAP.”

“Congress is decimated and destroyed itself and voting for them will be wasting one vote and therefore they want to borrow from our goodwill, organisation and political strength but this time people have decided not to have BJP or Congress but only AAP government,” said Chadha.

When asked why their former Goa party convenor Elvis left the party, he said, “Since AAP is a big organisation many people come and go and I thanked him for staying with the party for so long.”

When brought to his notice that BJP won some Zilla Panchayat seats due to split in votes between AAP and Congress, he said that it is ‘different election with different flavours and Assembly election is election for the government and chief minister for the State’.

“We will announce our chief ministerial candidate soon and also about contesting the municipal elections,” said Chadha adding that his “party became strong in Goa otherwise BJP would not send the police and goons to disrupt their meetings.”

Informing that Delhi government’s annual budget is Rs 60,000 crore for two crore population and spending around Rs 40,000 per person by giving free water, electricity and WiFi besides best education and medical facilities, Chadha said “why Goa government cannot give this facility to its people when their annual budget is Rs 21,000 crore for the population of only 15 lakhs?”

“This government cannot give such benefits to its people when they are spending around Rs 1.40 lakh per person,” said Chadha and added “they cannot give because they use that money to buy elected MLAs from other parties.”

Goa Convenor Rahul Mhambre, Curchorem in-charge James Fernandes and other party leaders also spoke on the occasion.
