Frenchman nabbed with drugs at Chapora
CALANGUTE, JAN 22 (HC) — In yet another drug seizure in the State, a French national was nabbed with drugs worth Rs 2.26 lakh at Chapora on Friday night.
Anjuna police arrested Tierre Jorges Jean Acquarone (42) was arrested at Chapora and seized 1.26 gms of charas, 10 gms MDMA (pills) and 11 gms of brown sugar from him.
According to police reports, the police received a tip off on a deal between Acquarone and his potential customers at Ozrant, Chapora.
An Anjuna police team, led by Police Inspector Manjunath Dessai, PSIs Anant Gaonkar and Sinari, laid a trap for the French national at Ozrant and nabbed him.
The value of the seized drugs is 1.26 gms charas (Rs 1.26 lakh), 10gms MDMA powder (Rs 45,000), 11 gms brown sugar (Rs 55,000) besides cash of Rs 22,540.
“This is the second such huge seizure of drugs in and around Anjuna in a month,” PI Dessai told Herald. Further investigations are in progress.
