PONDA: The Hindu Janjagruthi Samiti (Goa unit), a fringe group,  has said that its members would hold a demonstration at Poñda, on Saturday, at 5 pm to protest Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godhino’s announcement that Goa Meat Complex at Usgao would be reopened full-fledged on the occasion of Bakri Eid festival.
In a press release issued here, the fringe group has also strongly opposed slaughter of cows on the occasion of Bakri Edd.
According to the press release, the protesters would also demand deportation of Bangladeshi, Pakistani and Rohingya Muslims from the country.
It may be recalled that Animal Husbandry Minister Mauvin Godinho in the recently concluded assembly session had assured the House that operations at the Goa Meat Complex would start by August 22, in time for Bakri-Eid by taking all permissions from Factories and Broilers, Pollution Control Board Certificate and FSSAI.
