VASCO: Stating that the Centre will not compromise on pollution, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari called for an integrated approach on coal handling without causing pollution.
“There are various things causing pollution, one cannot blame coal handling. Now, the iron ore is stopped and if the coal handling is also stopped what about the dependents and the workers at the port?” he asked.
Gadkari said the Centre will not compromise on pollution.
“We will not compromise with environment and ecology but the coal handling work at the port cannot be stopped as people are totally dependent on the port. We will take an integrated approach on how to handle coal without causing pollution,” he said.
