PANJIM: Union Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari will be in Goa to chair a national conference organised by the ministry on June 11 and 12. The meeting will be attended by MoRTH (State) Mansuk Mandaviya, Principal Secretary and other officials of the ministry along with concerned ministers from different states.
Transport Minister Ramkrshna Dhavlikar will attend the meeting that will deliberate on existing and new projects towards upgradation and expansion of road transport in the country.
Sources said that after the two-day meeting, Gadkari is likely to meet BJP leaders, including ministers and MLAs, to take a stock of the political situation in the State.
The ministry had recently granted in-principle sanction of Rs 7,000 crore for projects in Goa, which includes upgrading the 105 km district highway from Karaswada to Khandepar into a national highway.
