MARGAO: Accusing Tribal Welfare Director Venancio Furtado of working against the welfare of the tribal community, Gawda Kunbi Velip and Dhangar Federation (GAKUVED) on Monday demanded that he immediately be removed and replaced by an IAS officer or a person from the tribal community.
Briefing media persons Gawda Kunbi Velip and Dhangar Federation general secretary Rupesh Velip accused Venancio of deliberately holding back files of tribals, who had applied for government loans from the time he was the director of industries, giving various excuses and even cancelling the task force meetings called to decide upon the applications.
