PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar Tuesday said the government is in the process of appointing a Gaming Commissioner for Goa.
“He will be of the rank of Collector or similar rank, he added. The announcement comes two days after Sai Dhanush Reddy (19), had fallen into the Mandovi River from the second deck of Casino Carnival in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
The CM, responding to a question, said “Police is investigating the case. I have asked them to examine the rMeanwhile, Congress MP from South Goa Francisco Sardinha today said the student Sai Dhanush Reddy who died of drowning after falling from an offshore casino last Sunday, could be a suicide. “God knows whether it was a suicide or an accident,” Sardinha told reporters reacting to the incident.
Sardinha added: “What does the casino have to do with this (incident)? Somebody dying and playing in casino has no link,” he added when asked to react to NGOs blaming the casino. “The parents of the victim should also have kept a tab on their teenage son. Parents should know what his intention was…” he added.
