GANAPATI BAPPA MORYA: People flood Panjim market ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi

With the highly anticipated Ganesh festival set to kick off
in just one day, the atmosphere in the state is abuzz with excitement. In
contrast to the typical Monday scene, where the markets are relatively quiet,
this time around, the scenario was vastly different, as enthusiastic shoppers
flocked to the bustling market.

Vendors specializing in traditional “matoli” items
experienced a brisk surge in business, as residents from both the town and
surrounding villages rushed in for last-minute purchases. In addition to the
matoli bazaar, stalls offering decorative articles and firecrackers were thoughtfully
arranged in designated areas, creating a one-stop shopping experience for
festival-goers.

While a significant number of people were observed making
their festival purchases, it was impossible to ignore a noticeable decline in
the number of shoppers compared to previous years. Despite this, the festive
spirit remains high, and people are eagerly preparing to celebrate the Ganesh
festival with fervor and enthusiasm.
