Gandhi Market toilet block stinks

All appears not well with this toilet block located on the vegetable stalls in the congested Gandhi Market.
Leave alone the vendors, even passers-by have complained of unsanitary conditions of the toilet block.
In fact, the pathetic state of affairs has literally forced many a vendors to avoid using the facility for want of its maintenance.
What has, however, surprised many are the facts that the worker employed to carry out the cleanliness work does not feel that the situation is deplorable in the toilet.When Ram Singh was contacted for his comments, he said the toilet is being cleaned every three hours, but had no answer why the block was emanating foul odour or the general sanitation was below par.As usual, the Margao Municipal Council appears least concerned on the need to maintain sanitation in the public toilets located within the city jurisdiction.
