Ganesh windfall: Pending doles of Rs 142 cr to be paid out by Monday: CM

1.30 lakh beneficiaries of DSSS and 1.35 lakh beneficiaries of Griha Aadhar to get doles credited to their bank accounts in two days

PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday said that the pending doles of beneficiaries of various social security schemes and milk incentives to dairy farmers, totalling to Rs 142 crore, will be credited into their bank accounts, latest by Monday. 

Addressing the people of Goa live, Sawant said that the doles to about 1.30 lakh beneficiaries of the Dayanand Social Security Scheme (DSSS) and doles to 1.35 lakh beneficiaries of the Griha Aadhar scheme will be disbursed and credited into their bank accounts within the next two days.  

The dole payout to Griha Aadhar beneficiaries has been pending for the last three months and the same will now be cleared, he said adding that all beneficiaries (housewives/homemakers) will receive Rs 4,500 in their bank accounts. 

Earlier, the Chief Minister chaired a review meeting with officials of the Social Welfare Department and other concerned departments announced that the pending doles and various subsidies will be disbursed before the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival. 

The Chief Minister said that the pending milk incentives to farmers and other subsidies will be disbursed by Monday. The incentives and subsidies were pending for the last six months, he added. 

Also, subsidies given by the Directorate of Agriculture, Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Fisheries Department and various schemes implemented by the Tribal Welfare Department including scholarships to students belonging to Scheduled Tribes (ST) communities will be disbursed by Monday, said the Chief Minister.
