PANJIM: The Panjim Police on Tuesday busted an inter-State gang of mobile thieves with the arrest of five persons.
Kumar Dodderi, aged 20 years, Raju D R (22), Lakshmana D K (23), Shrikanth D M (22) and Ramesh D N (28), all hailing from Karnataka were arrested while 25 mobile phones of different brands and a laptop all worth Rs 5 lakh approximately was seized from their possession.
“It has been found that this gang may be involved in committing several thefts in Panjim and Margao areas,” reads a press statement issued by North Superintendent of Police Utkrisht Prasoon.
The accused are booked under Sections 379 (theft) read with 34 (common intention) of Indian Penal Code and are remanded to two days police custody.
