A gang of three robbers have attempted three robberies within 24 hours. Two attempted robberies one in a house in Loutolim and an attempt to rob a lady were caught on CCTV camera. The three thieves first targetted a house in Zuarinagar during the wee hours of Monday morning. When the neighbours noticed suspicious activity they alerted the Vasco police.
When the police arrived on site the thieves opened fire in an attempt to escape. A Goa police home guard was unfortunately injured in the shooting. The police however managed to detain the bikes of the thieves who managed to escape.
Later on Monday morning, two more robberies at Loutolim came to light. The first was reported through a CCTV camera footage where the thieves were caught on camera after breaking and entering a house. The thieves managed to escape. A few hours later the same group of thieves were again caught on camera pulling off gold bangles of a woman selling vegetables near a chapel.
The Police have now confirmed that the accused persons involved in the Loutolim incidents of attempted robberies and the armed house robbery in Zuarinagar are the same. The search is on to trace them.
