CALANGUTE: Habibal Mondal, 64, a resident of Khobrowado, Calangute and native of West Bengal, was arrested by Calangute police on Friday for allegedly being in an illegal possession of dried greenish colour leafy substance having flowery and fruiting tops suspected to be ganja weighing 1.2 kgs worth Rs 1,20,000 approximately. The accused is presently in police custody.
Calangute police said they received reliable information that one male person will be coming to deliver narcotic substance to his prospective customers near Dolphin Circle, Calangute, following which a narcotic raid was conducted and Mondal was arrested. Further investigation is in progress with PSI Kiran Naik of Calangute police station.
