PILERNE: The Pilerne-Marra Panchayat has inaugurated a Ganpati visarjan sabha mandap in Navetim, Pilerne for the benefit of the locals for conducting rituals prior to the immersion of the idol.
A plot of land donated by the Comunidade of Pilerne admeasuring around 300 sq mts was used for constructing mandap, which will also be used for cultural programs. It was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs35 lakh.
Pilerne panch Karan Govekar informed that the ganpati mandap would be a sarvajanik point where all the ganesh idols from the ward of Navetim would be brought. “This was a very long pending demand from Navetim residents,” he said.
