GAP formulates new healthcare model for State

VASCO: Goencho Avaaz Party (GAP) has formulated a new healthcare model “Goenchi Arogya Plan”, wherein free and accessible healthcare would be offered to all.

Speaking on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Party’s State Convenor Captain Viriato Fernandes said, “We will also upgrade the existing government health centres to provide state-of-the-art facilities. We will roll out doorstep delivery of basic healthcare in villages across Goa to the aged and elderly. Existing hospitals and healthcare facilities will be upgraded to create speciality departments cancer, dialysis, cardiology, mammography, MRI, etc).”

On the law and order issue, he said, “Our immediate priority will be to table the Police Reform Bill which will insulate the police force from political interference to perform their duties freely.”

Fernandes stated, “The party will get the Women and Child Safety Bill passed in the Assembly which will prevent crimes against them, whilst expediting justice to victims. We will also conduct a safety audit to identify Goa’s crime hot-spots. PCR vans attached to every police station jurisdiction will patrol all over including beaches,” he added.

“We will increase CCTV cameras surveillance and prioritise on-going maintenance to ensure that they remain in working condition. We will leverage technology with the help of an app or digital service on the phones of women that will alert the nearest police station in case of an emergency. This is only a preview of the policies that we would like to share with the people,” Fernandes said.

“The others will be rolled out in due course of time. I would like to ask the people of Goa to share with us their issues of concern so that we can alleviate their problems and offer them a better quality of life,” Fernandes added.
