MARGAO: The issue of garbage management was a topic of big discussion at the Sarzora gram sabha meeting.
While various updates were sought on waste management initiatives from the gram sabha members, the panchayat body also provided updates on what is being done to address the issue regarding the absence of a Material Recovery Facility (MRF). The panchayat body explained that due to scarcity of land, they were not able to set up the shed but are now hopeful of identifying a potential new site soon.
Issues connected to the widening the size of the roads and alleged encroachments were also discussed.
On the topic of frequent power cuts in the village, attention was brought to the fact that Velim MLA Cruz Silva had already raised this issue in the ongoing Assembly session.
