PONDA: As part of its social work campaign and to maintain village clean, Shiroda Kamaxi Santhan on Thursday donated garbage collection vehicle to Shiroda Panchayat, costing around Rs 6.5 lakh.
Shiroda Kamaxi Santhan President Umesh Kamath and temple committee members handed over the garbage vehicle to Sarpanch Amit Shirodkar in the presence of Shiroda MLA Subhash Shirodkar.
Speaking on the occasion, Shirdokar appreciated and thanked the Kamaxi Santhan.
Sarpanch Amit informed that the panchayat was in need of the vehicle for collecting garbage from remote areas where it was difficult to collect.
He said, “Prior to this, the temple committee had donated ambulance which proved useful to the villagers at the time of emergency.”
