Gaude tries to divert attention from Kala Academy ‘corruption’

Points towards alleged Atal Setu ‘scam’

PANJIM: Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude on Wednesday tried to divert attention from the Kala Academy “corruption” issue by pointing towards alleged “scam” in construction of Atal Setu.

Speaking to mediapersons, Gaude said, “Opposition parties are targeting me and alleging that there is corruption in the Kala Academy renovations works. It is their duty, but there was a lot of news about Atal Setu, but nobody speaks of it now.”

Also in recent time some newspapers reported about Rs 100-Rs 130 crore scam. But nobody is talking about it nor blaming anybody.

“Of course, it looks like”, he said when asked whether he is being targeted.

According to Gaude, after he received the news of the collapse of roof of open air auditorium on Sunday night, he drove to Kala Academy same night and inspected the site.

“It’s an accident and how can I and PWD engineers be held responsible?” he asked. “I am targeted because I belong to Bahujan Samaj, he said.

Gaude said that the PWD Principal Chief Engineer is expected to submit his provisional inquiry report in a day or two.
