Ponda: A Gaur was found dead at Mestwada-Betora in a cashew orchard on Monday morning. The body was spotted by locals when foul smell started to emanate from the area. They immediatly informed the Ponda forest department officials who rushed to the site and conducted the panchnama. Officals suspected the animal could have died of old age.
The autopsy was conducted on Monday morning itself and the body was later buried by the Forest officials.
