Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, shared a heartfelt message on International Women’s Day, acknowledging the profound influence women in his family have had on his life and values.
In a reflection posted on LinkedIn, Adani described the women in his life as the “architects of my conscience,” crediting them with shaping his outlook on responsibility, character and nation-building. He recalled that his earliest lessons came from his mother, who introduced him to India’s epics and the deeper values they carry. According to Adani, those stories helped instill ideas of courage, sacrifice, duty and faith from a very young age.

The billionaire industrialist also looked back at a pivotal moment in his youth when he left home for Mumbai at the age of 16 to pursue his ambitions. While the decision marked the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey, Adani said he often reflects on the courage it must have taken for his mother to allow him to follow that uncertain path.
Adani also paid tribute to his wife, Priti Adani, describing her as “the keeper of my conscience.” A trained dentist, she chose to dedicate her efforts to the Adani Foundation, which runs programmes in education, healthcare, sustainable livelihoods and community development. These initiatives now impact more than 10 million people across 22 states in India.
He also praised his daughters-in-law, Paridhi Adani and Diva Adani, for bringing fresh perspectives to the family, while noting that his three granddaughters remind him of the responsibility each generation holds for the future.
