PANJIM: The awareness meeting convened by the Goa Bachao Abhiyan (GBA) to apprise people about the land conversions will be held at the Old Goa panchayat hall at 4:30 pm on Tuesday, March 26.
Reacting to the panchayat secretary asking him to give reason for booking the hall, Glean Cabral told O Heraldo that he had already booked the panchayat hall for the meeting by following all due procedure. He said that there is nono provision in the register to write the purpose for booking the hall.
Demanding that as per 73rd Constitutional amendment, people’s participation is necessary to make plans at the panchayat level. As citizens we need to be aware of the town planning issues, he said adding that experts will address the meeting.
