Goa Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho stated that a review meeting was held to check on the shortcomings and come up with solutions for the smooth functioning of the Manohar International airport at Mopa. He added that Goa Electronic Limited (GEL) has been asked to re-examine the service charge and reduce it, this in turn will reduce the GST and therefore the pricing of taxis. Speaking about the bill that went viral on Social Media, Godinho added that the bill did not reflect the model of the car, the vehicle was a luxury car, hence the charges were high.
Comparing the price difference between Goa Miles App and the Goa Taxi App, Godinho added that Goa Miles is operated by a private organization, while Goa Taxi App is operated by the govt. The taxi charges on the Goa Taxi App cannot be reduced as there could be an audit objection.
