CURTORIM: Three times Zilla Panchayat member and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate for Curtorim constituency Domnic Gaonkar is very much satisfied with the response he is getting from the voters after covering the 80 percent of his door to door campaigning.
Speaking with with Herald, he assured to bring change in Curtorim constituency and to implement Delhi’s AAP model in Goa. Domnic has already covered 80 percent of his campaigning. He also said that voters of Curtorim constituency have already accepted him as the new MLA.
“I have completed my visit to maximum houses. People want change in Curtorim and they are very much upset with the recent political developments in the constituency. My target is to cover 100 to 150 houses per day. The response I am getting is very much satisfying as compared to the elections contested in 2012,” said Gaonkar.
Declaring his plans for the constituency, he informed that priority will be given in creating employment to the youth who are educated, besides healthcare facilities.
“I am visiting the people and giving them the assurance of resolving all the issues, including better health care facilities, sports complex and job oriented initiatives. There are plans to provide maximum facilities to the youth so that they utilize their valuable time for a better future,” he informed.
The AAP candidate further disclosed plans to start a hospital and infrastructure pertaining to the educational sector. He also claimed that being a clean candidate, people have high hopes for him.
“Meeting people and hearing their grievances, besides giving assurances, is itself a great experience for me. I am stressing mainly on interacting with the people. Being a ZP member for three times, I know how to go about resolving the issues of the people,” Gaonkar added.
He said that people of Curtorim are very much upset with unemployment in the constituency.
“I am not a new face to the people, as I have been with the people for the last several years. They have trust in me, which I have witnessed during my ongoing campaigning,” he added.
The AAP candidate also said that he will set a good example before the people of Curtorim, and corruption free Delhi model in the constituency will be his main agenda. He also wants to bring back the lost beauty of Goa and of Curtorim pertaining to protecting the environment.
“Only AAP is capable of bringing new change and corruption free government, including overall development of Goa, and hence people should support AAP candidates”, he appealed.
