PANJIM: A 23-year-old German national died in a stadium at Bambolim during rain marathon organised by Rotary Club of Panaji.
“Christina Kamser who had participated in the rain marathon collapsed soon after she started the 10 kilometre run,” Agassaim Police Inspector Uday Parab said
The deceased collapsed at Bambolim stadium where the marathon started. She was declared brought in dead at GMC situated a stone’s throw away distance from the stadium, he said. Parab said the cause of death is yet to be ascertained and they are awaiting the post-mortem report. “We have also called the girl who accompanied the deceased to the run. We are inquiring into the case,” the inspector said.
Police have registered a case of unnatural death.
Hundreds of enthusiasts had participated in the marathon which was an initiative of Rotary Club of Panaji.
