PANJIM: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday said that the South West monsoons are expected to advance over Goa in the coming 24 hours with heavy rains predicted at isolated places.
Speaking to Herald, IMD-Director M L Sahu said, “The monsoon has already reached Northern Karnataka and is proceeding over Goa with a pace that it will reach the coastal state in the next 24 hours.”
He added, “The South West monsoon hit Kerala on May 29 and reached Shirali in Karnataka on May 31, moving further towards Goa from where it will hit the Konkan belt and Maharashtra.”
He further said that projections have maintained that the regional average of the monsoon would be 95 per cent which means rainfall would be normal.
