VASCO: Goa State Industries Association (GSIA) on Wednesday called upon the government to get rid of red tapism if any new industry comes up in the State and added that all necessary permissions should be given within 30 days.
Speaking to media persons, GSIA president Damodar Kochkar said, “If red tapism is removed from the system then many people from Goa will come forward to set up industries. Whoever is interested in setting up an industry should be given all departmental permissions within 30 days. Files of these industries which go to the ministers and other authorities for permissions should be stopped.”
Demanding transparency in the system, Kochkar said, “Right now the existing people are harassed, as those who had taken a shed for 40 years in the industrial estate have been issued notices directing them to return the possession of the shed, which is not favourable.”
“There is no ease in doing business and there is no transparency. Rules which are supposed to be uniform for all are being implemented with partiality which is not correct,” Kochkar added.
