PANJIM: In a strong message to the upset karyakartas of the party, BJP State Unit President Vinay Tendulkar has said that the party workers will have to get used to the en masse defections as it is the current trend nationwide.
Speaking to reporters after the swearing-in ceremony of the four newly inducted ministers at the Raj Bhavan, Tendulkar said that the nation is moving towards ‘Congress mukt Bharat’. BJP workers have been upset and some have even resigned from the primary membership of the party after 10 MLAs from the Congress defected into the BJP fold and the ruling dispensation rewarded them with Cabinet berths.
On the question of how the party would respond to their own party workers’ anger, Tendulkar said, “If someone has not liked what has happened then we will talk to them. One can see the same trend across the nation, by which a lot of Congress leaders are joining the BJP and the trend will continue. The workers will have to get used to this trend.”
Stating that the nation is moving towards a ‘Congress mukt bharat’ he said, “People who were with the Congress don’t want to continue to be with them as their national president has resigned and even their Pradesh presidents. Some day there will be a lesson in the textbooks that once there was a Congress party. The party will cease to exist in a few years.”
