Panjim: In a promising declaration, Caetano Fernandes, the
President of the Goa Football Association (GFA), expressed his commitment to
ushering in a new era of football in Goa. He emphatically stated that the
“Golden glory” of Goan football, which had been somewhat elusive in
recent years, would soon make a triumphant return.
President Fernandes underscored the GFA’s unwavering
dedication to fostering and promoting youth development in the sport of
football. Recognizing the pivotal role of young talent, the GFA is actively
working towards creating opportunities and pathways for the youth to excel in
the beautiful game.
Notably, the inauguration of the new GFA office in South Goa
marked a significant step forward in their mission. Additionally, the GFA is
set to provide financial support to clubs registered under both the society act
and the GFA itself. This initiative is expected to have a positive impact on
numerous clubs across the state, contributing to the resurgence of Goan
football and its rich legacy.
