GFDO convenor Fr Eremito Rebello, at a meeting at Benaulim on Tuesday, said, “In the last assembly elections the Congress was thrown out for their corruption and the present government is not too different. They are not only corrupt but are also cheating the people. GFDO warns the bidders willing to take up the work of the Mopa airport that GFDO is sharpening and heating its tools. We will fight it out in court and make sure the airport doesn’t come up.”
Fr Rebello also accused the government of manipulating the facts surrounding the Mopa airport. Activist Siddharth Karapurkar said that the argument that the land is barren is wrong.
More than a 100 people were present at the meet.
