GFG threatens jail bharo andolan if FORCE activists evicted

Say that the Azad Maidan has been notified as a place for the citizens to conduct peaceful protests; also say the required fees of Rs 19,000 for 19 days has been paid

MARGAO: Goans for Goa (GFG) condemned the move of the government to stifle the peaceful protest of FORCE members, currently underway at the Azad Maidan on the medium of instruction (MOI) issue.
GFG gave a clarion call for all its village member groups and other people of Goa to be ready for a flash jail bahro andolan, should the governement try to impose their dictatorship forcefully on the fasting members.
“The eviction notice served by the North District Magistrate warning the members to evict the Azad Maidian by July 29, clearly shows that the government is totally dictatorial in its approach,” said GFG President Kennedy Afonso.
GFG reiterates that the Azad Maidan has been notified as a place for the citizens to conduct peaceful protests, and “we do not see any reason why an eviction notice should be served to FORCE members, despite them paying the required fees of Rs 19000 for 19 days.
GFG warned of a law an order situation if the eviction is carried out in a forceful manner and said the government will be wholly responsible if this happens.
