MARGAO: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday alleged that Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai stage managed his resignation from the National Democratic Alliance and while questioning the role of the so called NGOs that demanded his resignation said that the NGOs were arranged by him only.
Briefing the media persons, BJP Secretary and former MLA Damodar alias Damu Naik said that Vijai is the biggest liar in Goan politics and while terming him as a worm out to destroy Goa added that sooner he was evicted from Goan politics better it would be for Goa.
He said, “Vijai remained with the NDA for so long only for one reason and that was to ensure that his illegalities and wrong doings will not be exposed.”
“But the time has come now to expose this man thoroughly and all the skeletons will keep stumbling out,” he said.
He also accused Vijai of being a publicity hound and pointed out that every day he has some report or photograph of his appearing in the papers or otherwise he features in the media through his cronies.
While asserting that Vijai used his presence in the government only to amass ill gotten wealth, Damu however refused to admit that this would mean that BJP aided and supported Vijai’s corruption as he was part of BJP government.
“When BJP realised that he was using his presence in the government for the wrong purposes, we threw him out of the government,” he said.
Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Manohar alias Babu Ajgaonkar, who also addressed the media, said that Pramod Sawant will be repeated as the next chief minister of Goa as he said the BJP was sure to return to power because it keeps Goans united and brings about development.
He lamented that Vijai has destroyed Goans by providing them formalin laden fish and not taking any action against those providing poisonous fish to Goans and clarified that the BJP came to know about formalin fish later.
He appealed to the people of Margao and Fatorda to teach Vijai a befitting lesson at the Margao Municipal Council elections by voting for the candidates sponsored by Vibrant Margao Panel, which is the BJP sponsored panel.
