MARGAO: Goenkar – Ek Pavl Ekcharachem on Monday appealed to Goa Forward Party and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai to withdraw from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) within a week failing which they said they will not be able to support the Margao Civic Alliance formed by him along with Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat for the Margao Municipal Council elections.
Briefing the media persons, Vikas Bhagat of Goenkar said, “Following their support to the alliance which they announced on April 10, they received a lot of phone calls from people questioning Vijai’s continuation with the NDA.”
“The response from the general people made us realise how much apprehensions people have against Vijai following his behaviour post 2017 election results,” he said adding that this is the reason why they are making this appeal.
Vikas said that they will not be able to convince people to support the alliance in Margao if Vijai does not withdraw from the NDA.
“We shall not be in a position to approach other political parties too to join the alliance if Vijai continues his association with the NDA,” he said.
