Panjim: Goa Forward Party (GFP) spokesperson and General Secretary Prashant Naik on Thursday lambasted the State government led by Pramod Sawant for not giving the salaries and arrears of various government agencies and corporations.
Naik demanded that the release of the same before the year ends. GFP has also expressed their disgust over the government’s hell-bent attempt to hold regular examinations by ditching the online examination system for the students.
Naik demanded the release of the pending salaries of Bal Bhavan employees and the payment of arrears of Goa Human Resource Development Corporation (GHRDC) contract staff.
“Nearly 250 staff of Bal Bhavan have not been given their salaries as of November. Christmas is being celebrated in the State and the government is busy spending crores on the celebrations,” informed Naik.
“Several GHRDC security staff has been given a hike in salaries in 2016 but they have not given the arrears and the hike till date,” he said.
GFP has also mocked the government for pushing off-line examinations for the students while the fears of the new mutated Coronavirus spread have come true.”
“The college students are against the off-line examinations and are protesting. If taught online let the examinations happen online. What is the problem with Goa University to hold examinations online? In fact, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, which is an ancillary organisation of the ruling BJP wants a postponement of examinations which is a diversionary tactic,” alleged Naik.
GFP added that it stands by the demand of the student community for online examinations. “Don’t the Ministry of Human Resource Development guidelines apply to the State government? The government has no respect for the guidelines. Ultimately you are putting the lives of students of Goa at risk,” alleged Naik.
