GFP files plea in HC over delimitation, reservation

MARGAO: The Goa Forward Party has filed a petition in the Bombay High Court at Goa demanding the declaration of delimitation and reservation for the municipal elections should be finalised one month before the electoral process starts.

Party President Vijai Sardesai informed that the delimitation and reservation for the municipal elections have to be finalised at least one month before the electoral process begins.

“The delimitation will be done but with the reservation, the government is planning to do at the last minute, to favour the ruling affiliated candidates,” alleged Vijai.

He informed that the former Advocate General in a case pertaining to delimitation and reservation in 2016 had sought that the same should be notified 60 days before the process of election commences.

“Why the BJP government is playing hide and seek? Come open now,” challenged the GFP president.
