GFP mocks at govt for keeping on hold Lohia Maidan revamp

MARGAO: Goa Forward Party (GFP) chief Vijai Sardesai has mocked the Government for sending back works due to a lack of funds. He has also flayed the Government for only making statements and not fulfilling the assurances.
Vijai complained that the work of Lohia Maidan revamp has been sent back due to a lack of funds.
“”No funds for Lohia maidan is the biggest insult to Lohia and his legacy for Goa. We are warning the Government to clear the file worth Rs 3.25 crore before December 19. Finance is replying that there is no money. We will have to look at other ways to protest,” Vijai warned.
“The government has Rs 16 crore to spend for IFFI and not for Lohia Maidan,” Vijai quipped.
He accused the government of going very slow on the Bio-methanation plant proposals. “I hope that the file is cleared soon which will help the removal of black spots from Margao Municipal areas,” Vijai said.
Criticizing the government for giving an assurance of a direct flight from London to Goa, Vijai said, “Many OCI people who are in news now are coming back to Goa for the Christmas celebrations. However, the tickets are costly and have doubled in fact this season. There was an announcement of the direct flight from London to Goa, but there is no sign of flight and it’s just a statement.”
