PANJIM: The Goa Forward Party (GFP) has sought clarification from the State government over the rising monthly unemployment rate as cited in the report of Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE).

The data released by CMIE has pointed out that unemployment rate in Goa at 22.1 per cent in March, is the second highest in the country. Addressing the media persons, GFP Vice President Durgadas Kamat congratulated Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for taking the State to second position from the third, where it was in the month of February, on the unemployment front.

He said that CMIE report has completely exposed the government, who had in 2019 Vibrant Goa summit announced that it will create 10,000 jobs. “We have a serious doubt whether Vibrant Goa was a scheme to rehabilitate some of his close aids. Vibrant Goa has vibrated the unemployment in the State,” Kamat said.
