PANJIM: The Goa Forward Party (GFP) has come down heavily on Cuncolim MLA Clafasio Dias for underperforming as the legislator of the constituency. Calling him as ‘accidental MLA,’ Sanket Kunde, who quit the Congress to join the regional outfit, accused the MLA of making empty promises.
“The Cuncolim MLA is incapable of executing works in the welfare of his constituency people. He is an accidental MLA who only talks, but does not work,” Kunde said addressing a press conference on Tuesday.
The former Congress Vice President of Cuncolim Block and social media convener of South Goa Congress stated that he was inspired by the working style and public delivery of GFP President and Minister Vijai Sardesai and the youth wing will support party face Yuri Alemao in Cuncolim for the next election.
“After 2017 elections, when our local MLA was found to be incapable, people met Yuri Alemao requesting him to take over,” he added.
Welcoming, Kunde into the party fold, Goa Youth Forward President Raj Malik said people from across the State are joining GFP.
Kunde also alleged that Congress President Girish Chodankar has created a mess in the party. “There is no future for Congress under Chodankar’s leadership and it won’t move forward. I want to strengthen the hands of Vijai Sardesai to take Goa forward,” he said.
The party also announced spokespersons of the Goa Youth Forward comprising of Deputy Sarpanch (Pilgao) Lalana Gimonkar, Councillor-Margao Pooja Naik and Maikash Shirodkar from Siolim.
