Goa Government Employees’ Association (GGEA) welcomed the decision of the government to implement the Seventh Pay Commission recommendation to the employees of Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd. GGEA president John Nazareth said, “The pay scales were long due to the employees to sustain with the growing expenses.” GGEA requested the government to pay the arrears due to the employees immediately along with the 6th pay arrears still due to them. Nazareth said that GGEA had been following up the demand before the government and its decision to hold protests was kept on hold considering the illness of the Chief Minister. GGEA also requested the government to issue orders regarding implementation of 7th Pay Commission to the remaining corporations and autonomous bodies.
