GGF demands dedicated staff at land records department

MARGAO: Voluntary organisation ‘Green Goa Foundation’ (GGF) has sought attention of the Chief Minister and other concerned authorities towards lack of dedicated staff at the Settlement of Land Records (SLR) department in South Goa District Collector complex.

In a letter to the Chief Minister, Raison Almeida, President of the GGF stated that following complaints from the local residents, the staff at the outward section of the SLR department at Mathany Saldanha Complex, South Goa is inefficient in discharging their duties towards the general public.

The concerned staff at the outward section is usually not at the desk during the working hours, thereby causing grievance and delay in the work of the public who are kept waiting for hours outside the department in order to collect their documents.

“The concerned staff members are rarely seen at the place for which reason the general public including the advocates are made to wait until he resumes his duty as no other staff is even willing to take over the outward section in his absence,” Almeida further stated in the letter.
