PANJIM: The Goa Human Rights Commission (GHRC) disposed of a complaint filed by Curtorim MLA Aleixo Rginaldo Lourenco regarding human rights violations by the police while registering a rape case involving a minor girl with disability.
The Commission observed that there was no violation of human rights by the Porvorim Police, who had promptly investigated the case.
Lourenco in his complaint had prayed that the rape of a 13-year-old differently abled girl by a 20-year-old accused be thoroughly probed by the Porvorim Police, on war footing.
The Commission sought report from the police and found that the accused was arrested on August 21, 2020 while, the statement of the victim was recorded by the JMFC, Mapusa.
