GIDC land measuring around 38 lakh square meters was acquired and illegally allotted under the SEZ scheme to promoters
Illegality was proved after High Court verdict
In 2010 HC set aside allotment of land to the seven promoters and upheld government decision to scrap SEZ policy
Court had observed illegalities in land allotment to SEZ promoters
Case registered against Congress leaders Pratapsingh Rane, Luizinho Faleiro and Chandrakant Kavlekar in August 2012 at ACB following a complaint from a GIDC officer
Kavlekar quizzed by ACB on a couple of occasions, while Rane and Faleiro were questioned in October 2015
ACB draws list of 20 people, including officers and politicians, linked to allotment of industrial land to seven SEZs at throwaway price
Land is presently in litigation between promoters and Goa government and is yet to be recovered and taken into possession
